Once again the tiny country of Hellas, is being harassed by hostile neighbors.
From the beginnings of early history, we have tried to offer a higher understanding and appreciation of Life, Science, History, and the Arts.
At one time we were considered the cradle of civilization, many countries based their systems of government, scientific observations, and theories, on works pioneered by the ancient Greeks.
In Byzantium we offered Christianity a new home, a refuge, a new beginning from the vile, and decadent societies that had engulfed it. It was here that Christianity was nourished, and allowed to grow.
Unfortunately intellectual pursuits and peace loving peoples are almost allways absorbed, or have their intellectual flame, spirit, and thirst for knowledge, doused, by the dark abyss of ignorance, and the vulgarity of hostile barbaric neighbors.
Our security is once again threatened by such a vile and treacherous neighbor. A country that did not fight with the allies in WW I, did not join the allies in WWII until a clear victor was apparent, and refused to help the Coalition in the Gulf War, until it was guaranteed billions of dollars in aid.
Billions of dollars in aid, for a country that has never respected human rights, and continues to massacre innocent cultures, and people, within and without its borders. Large scale massacres of Christians, Greeks, Cypriots, Armenian and Kurdish people. Massacres that can only be likened in scale and horror to the atrocities of the holocaust.
Unfortunately we do not have friends in high places, please help us secure our cause and protect the borders of our small country.
We offered an appreciation of Life, Peace, Love, Science, History, the Arts, the Olympics, and even the Alphabet, they were all taken from us, but little was offered in return.
If Hippocrates, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Aesclepios, Euripedes, Sapho, Agamemnon, Alexander, Byzantium, Odysseus or Hercules ever meant anything to you please help us preserve their memory and history, our history.
