GOLD SAVINGS ACCOUNT/PASSBOOK
The Gold Savings Account allows the small investor to buy and sell gold at low wholesale gold prices. The minimum initial purchase is 5 grammes. Subject to a minimum of 5 grammes per transaction, you have the flexibility to transact in gold in units of 1 gramme at a time.
Transactions are all recorded in a passbook and no real physical delivery of gold takes place. However, if the customer wishes, the gold savings can be transformed into physical gold, by paying a small premium, or cash when desired.
Administrative charges are as little as S$2.00 monthly or 1/4% per annum, whichever is higher.
If you find physical gold investment inconvenient owing to storage and portability problems, consider investing in the UOB Gold Certificate.
The UOB Gold Certificate can be purchased in multiples of one kilobar to thirty kilobars in one certificate. Similar to Gold Savings Account, they can be exchanged for physical gold or cash when gold price appreciates or when the need arises.
The certificate fee is only S$5.00 while the administrative charges is S$30.00 per kg per annum.

To enable you to trade in gold internationally, invest in UOB's Global Gold Certificate. You can transact at London prices and in multiples of as small as 0.001 fine troy ounces.
The Global Gold Certificate is extremely flexible. Buy them in one country and cash them at any of UOB Group branches around the world, including New York, Hong Kong and Singapore.
The administrative charges for the Global Gold Certificate is USD40.00 per kg or 1/8% per annum, whichever is higher.
