The San Francisco
Bay Area - On Shaky Ground, April 1995, 56 pages.
Describes the ground shaking hazard in the Bay Area and provides
options for mitigating the hazard. Includes 14 map sheets of the
San Francisco Bay Area at a scale of 1:1,000,000 [1 inch = 16
miles] showing earthquake hazards: [1] earthquake fault sources,
[2] geologic materials and their ability to amplify ground shaking;
[3] ground-shaking intensities from a modeled version of the Loma
Prieta earthquake, and [4] ground-shaking intensities from an
earthquake on 11 possible future earthquake scenarios.
Multi-Media CD-ROM - On Shaky Ground, April 1996. Contains
text and maps from the report above as well as the city maps
listed below. Includes animated graphics, earthquake damage photos,
and video clips on how to retrofit homes.
Special: On Shaky Ground CD-ROM with Shaken Awake! report, (See description of the Shaken Awake! report below.)
Computer Files - On Shaky Ground, April 1996. Includes: geologic
materials amplification and ground-shaking intensities for 11
scenarios. Requires GIS system such as ArcInfo. Available in *.cas,
*.dlg, *.bdf, and ArcInfo polygon coverage. (12 layers, one for
each scenario). Specify desired layers and format when ordering.
On Shaky Ground - City Maps, April 1995.
City maps include local streets and show: 1) geologic materials
and their ability to amplify ground-shaking, and 2) ground-shaking
intensities for those earthquake scenarios where significant damage
potential has been identified within the developed portion of
the city.

Regionwide Earthquake Secondary Hazard Maps for Dam-Failure
Inundation Areas, and Liquefaction Susceptibility. These two maps
cover the entire nine-county region. The maps are blue-line single-color
ozalid prints, rather than color printed maps. The map scale is
1:250,000; each map covers the region and is approximately 42"
x 48". Please allow 4 working days for the prints to be ordered
from the blue-line printing company.

Peak Shelter Populations in Future Earthquakes Affecting the San
Francisco Bay Region , April 1996, 144 pages. Estimates the number
of housing units likely to be uninhabitable, displaced populations,
and people requiring public shelter following 11 likely future
earthquakes. The scenarios are identical to those in On Shaky
Ground. Research was conducted by ABAG and George Washington
University.
