Total Abandon
Greenwich, CT (The Highway Star) - Deep Purple's next
album will be getting a world wide launch on May 15th 1998. The new album,
titled "Abandon", will be followed up with a European tour from May 15th
till July 10th, and then a proper US tour from August 1st to September
15th. Rumoured to be "excellent" and "very heavy", the new album will get
a full press launch in Monte Carlo in May. More...
Classic Deep Purple Live-album Remastered
London (DPWWW) - On January 19th 1998 EMI Records released
the remastered edition
of Deep Purple's "Made in Japan". The classic live album that includes
the live version of "Smoke on the Water" that broke the US market and partially
ensured that Deep Purple was the best selling act in the USA in 1973. The
remastered edition has the original album remastered, and in addition there's
a bonus EP CD that has three of the encores from those Japanese concerts,
recorded between August 15th and August 17th 1972.
