Daisy Fuentes, an MTV personality, is the host of "Top 20 MTV" for MTV Latino, and co-hosts various programs on MTV U.S. such as "Beach MTV" and "Rock N' Jock," making her the first VJ to be on both MTV U.S. and MTV Latino. Fuentes, who is fluent in Spanish and English, was born in Havana, Cuba and left on her third birthday to reside in Spain. Four years later her family settled in Harrison, New Jersey.
In 1986, while studying communications and journalism at Bergen Community College, Daisy began her television career as a news reporter and anchor for the evening news on WXTV channel 41, Univision's New York affiliate. In January 1988, Daisy assumed a position with WNJU channel 47, Telemundo's New York affiliate, before MTV spotted her to host "MTV Internacional." Fuentes was the host of "MTV Internacional," MTV's weekly syndicated Spanish-language video program, for the six years it aired.
Selected to join the supermodel ranks of Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer and Veronica Webb, Fuentes has a worldwide, multi-year contract to represent Revlon's classic cosmetic, fragrance and beauty treatment lines.
This actress/model, who has appeared on multiple covers of the Spanish-language version of Cosmopolitan, Vanidades and Harper's Bazaar, is also pursuing a career as a restaurateur. Fuentes is one of the partners of DISH, a Mediter"GRAIN"ean restaurant on Manhattan's upper west side. Fuentes is represented by the William Morris Agency.
