The Himalayan Rescue Association is a volunteer medical service organization based in Kathmandu, Nepal. We were founded in 1973 to help prevent deaths from altitude sickness among trekkers in the high Himalayan mountains in Nepal. We are accomplishing this goal through education, treatment, and research. We run two high-altitude clinics, one in the Annapurna region and one in the Everest region.
The information is organized below into levels of increasing detail, from most general and straightforward (our brochure) to detailed information for physicians.
