Introduction

I am a fine art documentary photographer. I believe that photography represents a universal language that communicates ideas to persons regardless of educational level, reading skills, or social status, and as such, is an ideal vehicle to promote understanding and good will between cultures.

For the most part, I have concentrated on the positive nature of people. I believe that while there is still great suffering and evil rampant in the world, there is also abundant evidence of strength, courage, joy, and hope. These qualities of people have not been adequately celebrated. There is an army of photographers documenting the world's tragedies, but few are documenting the positive attributes of humanity. This is the side of life I want to show; that people laugh and love, even in the most desperate of situations.
